Four-piece London-based alternative rock outfit Minimum Wage offer a fresh take on the eclectic rock scene of the 2000s. Whilst the influence of bands like the Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, blink-182, Muse and countless others is firmly stamped on their music, the group are also heavily influenced by jazz, funk, pop and metal. What results from this quirky musical melting pot is a unique brand of rock with boundless energy, anthemic choruses and sensitive melodic grooves, all while remaining ferociously catchy.
Consisting of Will Burton (vocals/guitar), Adrian D’Alessandro (guitar/vocals), Jack Scanlon (bass/vocals) and Charlie Flynn Southard (drums), the band began as Will Burton’s solo project, enjoying headline shows at venues such as the Courtyard Theatre in London and supporting Strawberry Lace on their Quardafeline Album tour in 2023. However, having solidified a stable line up and begun writing music collectively, there was little option but to formalise their creative relationship together and establish themselves a band. Recent highlights include winning their quarter-final in the Isle of Wight Festival's New Blood competition.
With their debut album, Modern Misery, set for release in Summer 2024, Minimum Wage are not to be slept on. They are making a lot of noise in the London music scene and it is becoming hard not to take notice.
